A fact that makes me wonder is the concept that people want to have best of the computer
at least of the price. they want an exclusive machine full of feature’s to support their work.
Well it seems almost difficult to achieve but of course to a level the problem could be solved
by using the concept of virtual memory.
‘Virtual memory’ is nothing but a space on your hard disk whose address is stored on
your RAM, so that we could get a direct access to that part of your hard disk. It provide’s
a boost to your system as many people say.
The technical definition says that Virtual memory is a concept which seperates
address space from actual memory locations.
In routine task we use many applications (Please note the information provided from now onwards is based on Windows 7 for PC , for Windows 7 on laptops it will be specified.)
These applications run a background process to provide an instance access to them on a single click.
These background processes consume from 2MB to 5MB and even more for application with higher
specification. Hence if your RAM amount is not high than your computer might slow down.
Now if you have a look at virtual memory concept, its clear that 2 bytes could principally be used to refer
to refer to 2^16 locations or 65536 addresses or 65536 byes of space or 64 KB of memory space.
But as a coin has two face similarly Virtual memory has disadvantages too.
Increasing virtual memory to very high value might also slow down your computer up to an extent.
Following is a list of virtual memory(VM) usage I recommend to use on windows 7.
Laptop -> RAM 2GB -> maximum VM 4GB -> minimum VM 750 MB -> boost your system using Advance system care. Advance System care because it has feature to clean RAM if memory usage increases very high.
Laptop -> RAM 4GB or higher -> maximum VM 3.2GB -> minimum VM 650MB-> boost system using Advance system care, TuneUP utilites, or Uniblue products. All are best
How to change virtual memory in Windows 7:-
MyComputer -> right click -> properties -> Advance System settings -> Advanced tab -> click settings in Performance block -> Advanced tab -> Virtual memory change -> custom specify minimum value in initial block and maximum in maximum block -> save settings and reboot
