Everything You Need To Know About JEE Advanced 2016


The JEE or Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2016 is the second examination after the preliminary JEE main examination. If you are seeking for studying under institutes like IITs, NITs etc. then this exam is must for you. JEE Advanced is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) along Joint Admission Board (JAB) 2016. And the main host for the examination this year is conducted by IIT Guwahati.

JEE advanced is conducted to provide the class 12 student to pursue their engineering studies in the top institutes like IIT and NIT. This admission process undergoes by 2 distinct examinations one is JEE Main and other JEE Advanced. To get admission in IIT and NIT you must qualify in both the examination and face ten faces a counselling and later the allotment of seat will be done throughout the country.

And any Candidates who did not clear the JEE Main 2016 are not eligible to appear JEE Advanced 2016 which the examination will be conducted on May 22, 2016. All the aspirants are expected to take the admit card along with them while entering the examination hall.

Eligibility Criteria For Appearing JEE Advanced

JEE Advanced is the second mode of examination after the first Jee Main. There are some protocol that has to be followed fir admission in the institutes like IITs, NITs etc, And the most important thing is that the candidates who have qualify in the last JEE Main 2016 only will be eligible for appearing the JEE Advanced 2016 exam.

Some of the eligible criteria for JEE Advanced is –

  1. In the last JEE Main, only those will be selected if he is present among the top 2,00,000
  2. The candidate should have passed or appeared in 12th class or equivalent examination
  3. Age limit – The candidate having date of birth after the date October 1, 1991 is for the general categories where of reservation there is an exception relaxation of 5 years having date of birth after October 1, 1986 for the sc/st candidates.
  4. If you have also appeared your Class 12th or equivalent examination in the year 2014 or earlier will not be allowed not eligible.
  5. Any JEE Advanced candidate can do their 2nd attempt if he or she fails to go through in the first text i.e. JEE Main.

Examination patterns for JEE advanced

The examination will be held by MCQs or objective types; here the aspirants must give the exam in an OMR sheet using the back ball point pen. The exam question paper will be of two types one is printed in English and other in Hindi. So you have to first make choice in language during the online form registration for the JEE advanced 2016.

The examination consist of 2 papers- Paper 1 and Paper 2 each paper will consist of subjects like- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The question and answer will be followed by marking of 1 marks for each right answer and ½ marks deducted for the wrong one.

How to Crack JEE Advanced entrance examination

The exams are mainly focus on the science group of class 12 and the main books for the JEE Advanced are – Fundamentals of Physics by Halliday, Resnick & Walker, Problems in General Physics I.E. by Irodov, Maths XI by R.D Sharm, Maths XII by R.D Sharma and IITJEE Chemistry by O.P Aggarwal

Important Dates

For those aspirants who have attempted the examination of JEE advanced, the result will be given on June 12 2016. And right away the counselling will too begin and hopefully it will be done by the end of third week of June or first week of July 2016. Once the counselling and allotment of seat is complete, now you can go to the prescribe location or IIY institutes for your further study.
