Today I was surfing some stuff on the internet and was busy with the blogging too. Then suddenly I got to know a thing about a provision in WordPress sites. So I thought that why not to share this thing with my readers? So today I am sharing a wonderful feature which is how to enable multisite option on your WordPress. So lets begin.
Don’t Forget 1). Β How to install WordPress on localhost using Wamp Server
2).Β How to Add Breadcrumbs On WordPress Website
Advantages of WordPress Multisite
- Users are able to easily access and handle Multisites with a single user account and profile.
- Theme functionality can be distributed with multiple websites using a parent-child theme connection or a Β performance plug-in.
- Users can access a particular website using the same account.
- Details from one Website can be absolutely separated from others.
- Details from one Websites can be quickly distributed to others.
- Customization are made once time and not per installation.
- By logging into one blog, we have access to each of them.
The Process of Β install and configure Multisite
The real procedure of transforming a website to multisite is fairly simple. It only requires a few moments. If you are going to do it, Be sure to continue but be careful, and make sure you have a back-up of your website.
You will need FTP (File Transfer Protocol) access to your WordPress installation.
Step-1 : Enabling the Multisite
[alert style=”green”]Β Add defineΒ (‘WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE’, true);Β to yourΒ WP-CONFIG.phpΒ fileΒ above where it saysΒ /* Thatβs all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */:Β [/alert]Step-2 : Install Network SetupΒ
You have successfully Install WordPress multisite function, but now you will need to make some configurations.
[alert style=”green”] Log into your WordPress website with your admin account. now You should see thatΒ Network SetupΒ has been added to your Tools menu item.Β [/alert]Step-3 : Enabling the Network
Once you have complete the installation you will need to make some significant changes to yourΒ .htaccessΒ andΒ wp-config.phpΒ file. These changes will vary depending upon your specific installation, so be sure to follow the customized WordPress instructions that are provided.Be sure to continue but be careful, and make sure you have a back-up of yourΒ .htaccessΒ and Β wp-config.phpΒ file
Once you are done, your wp-config.php and .htaccess files will look like this:

Network Admin dashboard
From the Network Admin dashboard, you will be to add new sites, and manage your plugins, users and themes. There will be some new principles to familiarize yourself with, but the main thing that you need understand is the settings on the multisite network will automatically apply themselves to the new blogs.
Note: A Main thing AboutΒ Permalinks
The only problems that we experienced with our multisite discussion was relevant to the framework of the permalinks. Typically,we have normally usedΒ /blog/%postname%/Β orΒ %postname%Β for our primary blog. Because we were already using a subdirectory for our blog, WordPress wanted to insert a second /blog subdirectory in our url.
Unnecessary to say, this split all of the old hyperlinks on our website. The problem was not quickly fixed, due to some oddities with WordPress itself.
[alert style=”green”]Β 1. Β blog site set Settings -> Permalinks -> Common Setting -> Default2. Network Admin Panel -> Sites -> (root site) Permalink Sturcture -> /%category%/%post_id%Β [/alert]

This is the most useful feature, yet, I was not studying about this. Thanks for the detailed procedure. I may try to install multiple blogs under same WordPress for my next project.
Because we need to change codes in .htaccess and wpconfig, we need to be ready with FTP software and backups of those files. Sometimes, they invite unnecessary troubles. Appreciate you to emphasis this fact multiple times in your post.
