Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro Review
Xiaomi has come with its new device – Redmi Note 7 Pro in the market recently. Xiaomi has been getting tough competition in the mid-range market now by companies like Realme and Asus. With 6.3-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 675 SoC, a 48MP rear primary camera, and huge 4,000mAh battery, Xiaomi’s this device start at Rs. 13,999.
But, how does it perform when it compares the device to Realme 3 and Asus Zenfone Max Pro 2? I sit the best device in the mid-range market right now? Let’s check it out in the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro review below:
Design and Display
Honestly, this new device by Xiaomi looks premium and look like a flagship. The aluminum build makes it looks solid and nice in hands. Though Honor and Huawei are also using such material, but it is surprising that Xiaomi came up with such a thing. The device gets Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on both sides. As per the company, the device is such a strong piece that you can break a wallet on it- impressive, isn’t it? The device is splash proof too and the rubber layering around the ports will not damage the interiors. But, that doesn’t make it waterproof and you can easily buy this phone using Flipkart Sale offer.
The device uses 2.5D curved glass on both front and rear which makes it comfortable in hands. On the back, the cameras are vertically set up but not like iPhone X this time. There is also a fingerprint sensor at the back which is easy to reach out. The lock button and volume buttons are also easy to reach and are tactile too.
Coming to the display, Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro packs a 6.3-inch FHD+ LTPS in-cell display. The new dew drop design at the front gives it the aspect ratio of 19:5:9. The bezels are quite thick and are visible as the device has around 81.4% screen-to-body ratio. When compared to Realme 3 or Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2, it is quite low. Also, the device at this price tag has not come with AMOLED panel which we saw in M20 and M30 of Samsung. AMOLED display gives punchy colors and crisp too. But, overall, the screen of this device is quite nice but not the best one in the market.
Under the hood, Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro has an 11nm based Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 octa-core chipset coupled with 4GB/6GB RAM variants and internal storage of 64GB. The internal storage can be further expanded via a microSD card. The same processor can be seen in Vivo 15 Pro which is almost double the price of this phone. For graphics, the device has an Adreno 612 GPU. The device performs really well without any lags or stutters- even multitasking. When it comes to gaming, one can easily play PUBG on high settings. But, we recommend you to play it on medium settings as you might notice some frame drops. Overall, Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro delivers above par performance.
Cameras and Battery Life
Coming to the camera, the device has a dual rear camera setup including a 48MP primary camera with an f/1.79 aperture and a pixel size of 1.6-micron and a 5MP depth sensor. For selfies, there is a 13MP front camera. The device uses Sony IMX 586 sensor which helps in bringing the pictures crisp and detailed. In night too, you can capture some decent pictures with enough detailing and minimal noise.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro houses a high capacity 4,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 4.0 support. You will only get a 10W charger out of the box. The device can take the device 0 to 100 percent in just 90 minutes. The device can easily give more than a day easily to you. For typical mobile users, you will love this device.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro runs Android 9.1 Pie out of the box coupled with MIUI 10. The UI doesn’t look that bad and is just okay. You get loads of bloatware though like some Mi apps and removable apps like Amazon, Facebook, Dailyhunt, Opera and more. The connectivity options and sensors include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, Bluetooth v5.00, Infrared, USB OTG, USB Type-C, 3G, and 4G, accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro comes in three color variants: Classic Space Black, Nebula Red, and Neptune Blue. Besides, this phone comes in 2-3 colors that you can easily buy using Snapdeal Offer Code at discounted prices.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro is the best device hands down in the range of Rs. 15,000. Starting at Rs 13,999, this is a device with the best hardware and camera in this range. The solid build quality and features like the Fast Charge 4.0, USB Type-C, IR Blaster and other makes it more likable. You get huge battery life, powerful processor and crisp camera at an affordable price which all goes in the device’s favor. The only con is its UI which brings some issues – the ads in the UI being the biggest one. But, all said and done, this doesn’t change anything as this device is the best one in the market right now at this pricing.
